Update -- Byrd, who spent the previous two injury-wracked seasons with Atlanta, has made 11 appearances against the Braves, five starts, and is 2-3 with a 4.98 earned-run average against them. Byrd, 34, has also pitched for the Mets, Philadelphia and Kansas City since breaking into the major leagues in 1995. The left-handed Ramirez, who played at Inglewood High School, has never faced the Angels.
