Motorist Dies, Passenger Hurt When Van Hits Car

A motorist died and her passenger was injured Friday when a van rammed into their car at Macarthur Boulevard and Von Karman Avenue.
The driver, identified as Bichson Tran, 40, of Albany, N.Y., died at the scene, police said, and the passenger -- who is expected to recover -- was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana.
The driver of the van was not injured.
The collision occurred about 9:30 a.m., police said.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
