Sheriff’s detectives Sunday were investigating a shooting at a party that left five people wounded, including a pregnant woman whose 8-month-old fetus later died.
Authorities said the shooting occurred about 11:30 p.m. Saturday when at least one man armed with a shotgun opened fire at partygoers at a home in the 100 block of South Harris Avenue. Shotgun pellets hit four women and one man before the assailant fled by car.
The shooting victims were taken to hospitals, including Long Beach Memorial, where the pregnant woman’s fetus died of gunshot wounds. The identities of the victims were not released.
