Brian Roylance, 60; Published Rock Stars’ Memoirs and Photos

Brian Roylance, 60, publisher of rock musicians’ memoirs and photography collections about the entertainers, died Tuesday in Guildford, England. The cause was an apparent heart attack sustained while playing soccer with friends.
Roylance’s company, Genesis Publications, published such books as George Harrison’s “I Me Mine,” Ringo Starr’s “Postcards from the Boys” and Beatles producer George Martin’s “Playback.”
He also published collections of early photographs of the Beatles by Astrid Kirchherr, Jurgen Vollmer and Max Scheler. At the invitation of the Beatles’ company, Apple, Roylance assembled “The Beatles Anthology,” based on the band’s video autobiography and published in 2000.
Roylance also published photo collections and other books on Jimi Hendrix, the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Brian Wilson, the Who, Pink Floyd and Ravi Shankar.
