EMC to Buy Captiva for $275 Million

EMC Corp., the world’s biggest maker of data-storage computers, agreed to buy Captiva Software Corp. to add products that convert paper documents to digital formats.

EMC, based in Hopkinton, Mass., will pay $275 million, or $22.25 a share, for San Diego-based Captiva, the companies said.
