3 People Sought in Slaying of Motorist

The driver of an SUV was shot and killed Wednesday and a passenger was seriously wounded, authorities said.
The shooting occurred about 4 p.m. near the intersection of North 1st Avenue and West 40th Street. Witnesses said the SUV was going south on 1st Avenue when the shots were fired, said Jodi Miller, a San Bernardino sheriff’s spokeswoman.
When deputies arrived, they found the driver dead; the passenger was taken to a hospital. Deputies are searching for two females and one male who witnesses said fled the scene.
