A former Anaheim police officer was sentenced Friday on charges of engaging in sex with a 16-year-old girl who was under his supervision while participating in a police Explorer program in 2002.
Jason David Rosewarne, 36, who pleaded guilty to felony oral copulation of a person under 18 and felony failure to appear at a hearing while on bail, was sentenced to a year in jail and five years of formal probation, the Orange County district attorney’s office said.
After appearing at several court hearings in 2002 and 2003, Rosewarne failed to appear for sentencing while out on $20,000 bail. He was placed on the district attorney’s 10-most wanted list in 2005, authorities said, and last year turned himself in.
