The principal of El Modena High School, who was put on leave after being arrested on suspicion of lewd conduct in a public place, resigned Wednesday, said Kimberlee Nichols, president of the Orange Unified School District board.
Fullerton police had arrested Brent Bailey, 56, in December during a sting in a restroom near Brea Dam, district officials learned last week.
He is expected to be charged with a misdemeanor, police said.
Bailey had been principal since July 2005 and had previously worked at Richland Continuation High School and Orange High School.
