Is it art or architecture?

Looking like a Frank Stella-esque fumigation tent and smelling like a Slip ‘n Slide, the Pasadena Museum of California Art has been transformed into an installation representing the collision of art and architecture. Draped in brightly colored vinyl stripes by L.A.-based Susan Silton, above, the 30,000-square-foot artwork “Inside Out” draws attention to the museum while obscuring it. No matter how the brash wrap is received, one thing is certain: You won’t have trouble finding it. A reception is planned for 7 to 9 tonight as part of Pasadena’s citywide cross-cultural festival, Skin/Art & Ideas. 490 E. Union St. www.pmcaonline.org.
