French commandos stormed a yacht hijacked by Somalian pirates, killing one, capturing six and freeing two French hostages.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy said the raid was a warning to criminals on the high seas, and he called for other nations to take action against piracy off East Africa.
He said Somalian pirates were holding 150 people and at least 15 ships, mainly in Eyl, a Somalian area that serves as a base for the pirates.
