Record vs. Stars: 2-2-1.

Update: The Ducks can clinch a playoff spot if they defeat Dallas, though their exact seeding might go to the wire. Depending on games played Friday before they take to the ice, they might need only one point. It’s possible that defenseman Francois Beauchemin, out since mid-November because of a knee injury, will return in this game or in Saturday’s season finale. Bret Hedican, however, had back problems after a long practice Tuesday and is doubtful. The Ducks haven’t played since Sunday, when they lost at home to San Jose, 3-2. They’re still 9-2 in their last 11 games. Center Ryan Getzlaf ranks in the top five in the NHL in assists, with 65. The Stars have been eliminated from the playoffs.
