Byrd is in driver’s seat for Rangers

ARLINGTON, TEXAS — Marlon Byrd drove in three runs and Texas defeated Minnesota, 8-5, Monday.
Josh Hamilton had two hits and scored twice, and David Murphy drove in two runs for the Rangers, who led, 7-2, after the second inning.
Tommy Hunter (6-2) won his third consecutive start, giving up four runs and four hits in 5 2/3 innings.
Twins All-Star first baseman Justin Morneau left in the fourth inning after experiencing dizziness.
Joe Mauer was three for five and hit a home run for the Twins.
