United Technologies Corp.’s Kidde unit is recalling 167,000 fire extinguishers that may not work because they lose pressure too quickly.

The extinguishers were manufactured in Mexico from October 2007 to April 2008 and have model numbers FX340SC, FX340H, FX340GW, XL5MR, FX210R, FX340SC-2, FX210W, XL2.5TCZ-4 and E-340-3, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

Consumers should check the device’s pressure gauge, and if it registers in the red zone, contact Kidde for a replacement at (888) 345-4407 or www.kidde.com.

* About 172,000 infant toys, manufactured in China and distributed by Infantino of San Diego, are being recalled because the blue metallic fabric can detach and pose a choking hazard. The recalled Infantino Tag Along Chime Trio is a hanging toy with three cloth figurines. The recalled toys were sold at Babies “R” Us, Target, Wal-Mart, Meijer and other specialty stores from June 2007 to February. Information: (888) 808-3111, www.infantino.com or www.cpsc.gov.

* About 3,000 Electra Bicycles with front trays, 2009 model, made in Taiwan and imported by Electra Bicycle Co. of Vista, Calif., are being recalled because the front tray on the bicycle can come loose and hit the front tire, causing riders to fall. The recall involves Electra 2009 bicycle models Delivery 3i, Delivery 8D, Holiday 3i and Surf 3i. They were sold by authorized Electra Bicycle dealers from October 2008 to February. * About 210,000 children’s flip-flops, made in Brazil by Alpargatas USA Inc., are being recalled because decorative paint on the sole of the footwear can contain high levels of lead, which is toxic if ingested by young children. Flip-flops of the Havaianas brand containing decorative paint were sold under these model names: Baby Estampas, Baby Pets, Kids Apple, Kids Fairy, Kids Flores, Kids Lighthouse, Kids Monsters, Kids Surf, Baby Letrinhas, Kids Sports, Kids Candies, Kids Fun, Kids Love, Kids Sereias, Kids Speed, Kids Lucky Bug, Kids Pets, Kids Rock, Kids Slim, Kids Wonder Woman, Kids Small Flowers and Kids Tropical w/Kit.
