“The Addams Family” has found its merry macabre menagerie for Broadway.
The show’s producers say Nathan Lane will play Gomez and Bebe Neuwirth will be Morticia in the musical based on the popular ghoulish cartoons in the New Yorker.
“The Addams Family” will open April 8, 2010, at a theater to be announced. Previews begin March 4 after a pre-Broadway engagement in Chicago. Also in the cast are Kevin Chamberlin as Uncle Fester, Jackie Hoffman as Grandma and Zachary James as Lurch.
The show features music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, while Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, who wrote “Jersey Boys,” will provide the book.
