UCLA advances to title game in softball regional

Kaila Shull hit a two-run double to drive in the go-ahead runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and Megan Langenfeld went the distance to lead host UCLA to a 4-2 victory over Fresno State on Saturday in an NCAA softball regional winners’ bracket game.
UCLA (43-9) and Fresno State (38-19), which survived the losers’ bracket, will meet today at noon in the title game of the double-elimination tournament. If Fresno State wins, a second game will follow.
Langenfeld (16-1) gave up three hits and one earned run. She was two for two, including a home run -- her seventh -- in the first inning for a 2-0 lead.
Long Beach State 3, Nevada Las Vegas 1 (13 innings) -- Danielle Linke hit a two-run walk-off homer and the 49ers (35-20) eliminated the Rebels (31-21).
Fresno State 12, Long Beach State 2 -- Michelle Moses hit a grand slam in the top of the second inning to lead the Bulldogs in an elimination game.
