Blockbuster Inc. will pay $300,000 to resolve a lawsuit alleging that the video rental chain overcharged some of its California customers.
The judgment ends a nearly five-year investigation into the way that Dallas-based Blockbuster rang up merchandise sold at stores in 14 California counties. The district attorneys in Los Angeles and San Diego counties filed a lawsuit alleging that the chain sometimes charged more than the advertised or posted price.
