There are some big studio pictures on the bill for the Los Angeles Film Festival next month, including Universal’s “Public Enemies” and DreamWorks/Paramount’s “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” but the organizers have decided to take a bold step by opening with a movie that as yet has no distributor at all.
“Paper Man,” an indie film that stars Jeff Daniels, Ryan Reynolds and Lisa Kudrow, will kick things off at the 11-day event on June 18 at the Mann Village Theatre in Westwood. Directed by Michele and Kieran Mulroney, it’s about a writer who has had a superhero living inside his head since childhood.
