Texas sweeps Oakland in doubleheader

at Texas 6-5, Oakland 3-2: Scott Feldman gave up five hits over six innings, and the Rangers completed a doubleheader sweep. In the first game, former Dodger Andruw Jones hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the eighth to send the Rangers to victory.
New York 3, at Cleveland 1: Andy Pettitte pitched five scoreless innings for the Yankees before leaving because of a stiff back in the sixth.
at Baltimore 7, Detroit 2: Luke Scott extended his recent power surge with a grand slam and a solo shot off Dontrelle Willis (1-2).
at Tampa Bay 5, Minnesota 3: Evan Longoria and Carl Crawford homered, helping the Rays end a season-high, five-game losing streak. Longoria has a major-league high 54 RBIs.
Chicago 11, at Kansas City 2: Jermaine Dye’s first-inning homer ignited a 17-hit attack, and the White Sox trounced the Royals.
Seattle 5, at Angels 2: Jason Vargas pitched 6 1/3 impressive innings to lead the Mariners.
