House ethics investigators have been scrutinizing the activities of more than 30 lawmakers and several aides about issues including defense lobbying and corporate influence peddling, according to a confidential House Ethics Committee report from July.
The report found its way to an Internet site in a case of “cyber-hacking,” according to the committee’s chairwoman, Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-San Jose). Lofgren said no inferences should be made about anyone whose name was mentioned.
The Washington Post reported the incident.
