Angels have proven to be Yankees undoing

Monday through Wednesday: Yankees at Angel Stadium
Friday through Sept. 27: Athletics at Angel Stadium
Superman has kryptonite, Napoleon had Waterloo. And now the Yankees have the Angels. During the last five seasons, no team in the American League has played better against the Yankees than the Angels, who swept New York the last time they were here. And the last two times the teams met in the postseason, the Angels eliminated the Yankees. It’s not a stretch to think the teams will meet in the postseason this fall since they started the weekend with the two best records in the league. Last September, the Angels wrapped up a playoff berth with a win against the Yankees at Angel Stadium. They’ll probably have to wait until later in this 10-game homestand, to punch the postseason ticket this year. But the Angels do have another trend working in their favor: In the last seven seasons in which the team won the division, it clinched the title at home.
