Here, a smattering of anticipated night life destinations for 2010.
Surly Goat
Slated to open in January, this WeHo beer bar will specialize in obscure brews.
Hemingway’s
The dance destination known as Ivar will turn into two venues, with half becoming a 1930s Paris-style saloon in January.
Mignon
This tiny 20-seat bar will specialize in esoteric wines when it opens downtown in early 2010.
Drai’s
Along with the opening of the W Hotel Hollywood comes its buzzed-about rooftop club, slated to open in late February.
Del Monte Speakeasy
Below Townhouse Cocktails in Venice, this basement bar will evoke the Prohibition era when it opens, most likely in February. Tunnels once used by bootleggers are still connected to the space.
The former White Lotus
The club kingpins at SBE have hooked up with ICRAVE to transform this Cahuenga Corridor spot. Expect celebrities when it opens during the first quarter of this year.
MyStudio
After MyHouse, David Judaken is turning his former club Mood into MyStudio, a small dance den meant to evoke New York City. Dodd Mitchell is designing the space set to open by March.
Supperclub
The renovation of the Vogue Theater into the circus-like Supperclub is almost ready for its close-up. Planning for a March opening, the space will pair dominatrixes with midgets on bicycles.
Premiere
Vinny Laresca of Villa fame has plans to transform Central into a dinner and theater type of joint designed by Spacecraft. It should open in May.
The venue formerly known as Vanguard Hollywood
Jordan Buky -- who’s also opening wine bar and restaurant Fairfax -- will take over the behemoth dance club Vanguard on Jan. 1, close it in March or April and most likely reopen it by Halloween.
