Las Vegas deal: Stay at Mirage for $55 per night plus fee

The Mirage resort and casino in Las Vegas is offering up to 30% off room rates through next summer, if you make your reservations by the end of this month.
The deal: The Mirage’s Offer No. 1 (yes, there are two other offers) promises up to 30% off rates, with rooms starting at $55.30 per night, plus taxes and resort fee. The best way to find the biggest savings on this offer is to compare the Mirage’s regular room rates versus the 30% off rate. Mention Offer No. 1 if you’re making a reservation by phone.
When: Good for stays through July 31, 2011. But you must book by 11:59 PDT Oct. 31.
Tested: I went online and found the rock-bottom rate ($55.30 per night) available Jan. 9 through 11 (Sunday through Tuesday). I checked that price against the regular rate for the same night, and found a 26% savings.
The deal, at a higher price, was also available for a slightly nicer tower deluxe room on Nov. 27: $136 versus the regular rate of $170, or about a 20% discount.
Prices don’t include a $15 per night resort fee and taxes.
The bottom line: Room rates change a lot in Vegas, so if you find a price you like on a date that you like, go for it.
