Ashok Amritraj, the former tennis pro turned Hollywood producer, has sold a home in the Encino/Sherman Oaks area for $1.675 million.
The Hyde Park Entertainment chief executive put the tennis court estate on the market earlier this year after buying an Italian villa-style mansion in Bel-Air for $8.25 million. He had asked as much as $2,199,900 for the property.
The ranch-style home, built in 1973, occupies more than an acre with a main residence, an outdoor patio, a pool, a lighted tennis court and a large motor court. Featuring hardwood finishes and vaulted interiors, the 4,381 square feet of living space includes an office, a family room with a wet bar, a living room, a maid’s quarters, four bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms.
Amritraj, 58, competed in major tennis tournaments for nearly a decade, including Wimbledon and the U.S. Open. As a producer, he has worked on a range of films including “Double Impact” (1991), “Bandits” (2001), “Bringing Down the House” (2003) and “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance” (2012).
Public records show that the movie exec paid $750,000 for the property. Keith Geller of Realty Network Properties represented both Amritraj and the buyer in the sale, which closed in early August.
