Pencil these three names in for next year’s naughty list: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen and Anthony Mackie.
The trio of actors will be seen in director Jonathan Levine’s untitled Christmas comedy a bit earlier than expected, on Nov. 25, 2015, Sony Pictures has announced. The new release date bumps the film up to the eve of Thanksgiving, from its previous date of Dec. 11, 2015.
Based on a script by Levine, Evan Goldberg, Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir, the movie is about three childhood friends who get together every Christmas Eve for an annual night of debauchery. Having decided to wrap up their tradition and enter adulthood, the buds seek one final blowout at the, ahem, Nutcracka Ball, considered the Holy Grail of Christmas parties.
Speaking of reunions, the film will mark another collaboration between Levine, Gordon-Levitt and Rogen, who made the cancer-themed comedy-drama “50/50” together in 2011.
Rogen is also producing the new film with Goldberg and James Weaver.
On its new date, Sony’s Christmas comedy is set to open against Universal’s horror-comedy “Krampus,” Pixar’s animated film “The Good Dinosaur” and Fox’s sci-fi movie “The Martian.”
