Fans of the iconic cocktail bar Death & Co. in New York’s East Village will want to know about the launch party for the book “Death & Co: Modern Classic Cocktails” on Wednesday night from 8 to 11 p.m. at the downtown Los Angeles cocktail lounge Honeycut. All three authors of the book — Dave Kaplan, Alex Day and Nick Fauchald — will be on hand and you’ll be able to taste some of Death & Co’s signature cocktails, such as the Little Engine, the Scotch Lady or Tea in the Sahara. Tickets, available online, are $55 and include a copy of the $40 book, plus cocktails.

Thursday, San Francisco-based uber-chef Michael Mina will be cooking a sustainable seafood dinner at his Stonehill Tavern at the St. Regis Monarch Beach to benefit the Ocean Institute in Dana Point. Mina and his executive chef Raj Dixit’s three-course menu will highlight fresh, locally caught sustainable seafood. The cost is $165 per person, including organic wine pairings. You can also buy raffle tickets for $10 and the chance to win a chef’s tasting menu at Stonehill Tavern, Sunday Champagne brunch at Motif or an overnight stay at the St. Regis resort.

Remember, too, that on Sunday, Paris-based food writer Alexander Lobrano will be in town to celebrate the publication of two books: “Hungry for France: Adventures for the Cook & Food Lover” and the second edition of “Hungry for Paris: The Ultimate Guide to the City’s 109 Best Restaurants.” He’ll be signing books and chatting about France and Paris at 5 p.m. at L’Assiette Steak Frites on Melrose Avenue. Tickets are available online. The cost is $54 for the dinner, but if you buy a book, dinner is discounted to $48.
