Farmworkers bill: In the Aug. 21 LATExtra section, an article about the state Senate’s approval of a bill that would grant farm workers new overtime benefits said that the measure was sent to the governor. It was not; the measure returns to the Assembly first for action on changes made in the Senate.
Olympics: In the Aug. 4 London 2012 section, an article about social media and the Olympic Games said that triple jumper Voula Papachristou was dismissed from the Greek Olympic team after sending a racist tweet from London. Papachristou was in Greece when she wrote the tweet.
Director’s death: An article in the Aug. 21 Section A about the death of director Tony Scott gave the first name of composer Harry Gregson-Williams as Henry.
Spiders: An article in the Aug. 18 LATExtra section described the scientists who discovered a new family of spiders as etymologists. They are entomologists. Etymologists study words and their meanings; entomologists study insects.
