Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near Wofford Heights, Calif.

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Wednesday morning two miles from Wofford Heights, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 7:47 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of five miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 35 miles from Oildale, Calif., 36 miles from Bakersfield, 36 miles from Tehachapi, Calif., and 251 miles from Carson City, Nev.
In the last 10 days, there have been seven earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
