Earthquake: 3.0 offshore quake strikes near Carpinteria

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Wednesday morning 11 miles from Carpinteria, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 6:22 a.m. PST at a depth of 4.3 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 14 miles from Ventura, 15 miles from Santa Barbara, 17 miles from Oxnard Shores and 318 miles from Sacramento.
In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
