Man, boy wounded in West Adams shooting, LAPD says

Los Angeles police Wednesday night were investigating a possibly gang-related shooting that left two people injured in the West Adams neighborhood.
About five gunshots were reported shortly before 2:30 p.m. in the 5500 block of Geer Street, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Two victims -- a man and one boy -- were down when officers arrived. Both victims were taken to hospitals and were expected to survive, Officer Norma Eisenman said.
The attacker or attackers fled, police said. No additional details were immediately available.
In the last six months, at least 136 violent crimes and 225 property crimes have been reported near the scene of the shooting, according to The Times Mapping L.A. database.
