Guite no-hits Giants

Sean Guite threw a no-hitter for the Cubs, who went on to defeat the
Giants, 4-0, in an Ocean View Little League Majors Division victory
at Murdy Park.
Guite pitched a complete game, striking out 16 on his way to the
no-hitter.
He struck out the first seven batters and had 13 strikeouts in the
first 14 outs of the game.
Guite had a perfect game with two outs in the fifth inning when he
walked a batter.
He also hit a batter.
The Cubs got all the runs they needed in the top of the first
inning when they scored three times.
The runs were brought home behind RBI singles by Jordan Miller,
Calvin Primich and Cody Wilkinson.
In the fourth inning, the Cubs scored another run on a double by
Wilkinson and an RBI double by Chad Hackworth.
Other hits by the Cubs were from Guite, who singled and doubled
off the left-centerfield wall, and singles by Hackworth, Jacob
Conroy, Montana Merhoff and Jason Fernandez.
In Minor A Division play:
Angels 5, A’s 1
Zachary Gates doubled twice, drove in three runs and pitched four
scoreless innings of one-hit ball to lead the Halos.
Other key Angels hits came from Jordan Koontz, Justin Benoit,
Matthew Butler and Patrick Shaughnessy.
Koontz pitched the final two innings for the Angels and recorded
three strikeouts.
Frank Pacheco pitched three innings without giving up a run and
also singled for the A’s.
Giants 15, Cubs 3
Giants pitchers Jake Rubino, Grant Mayeaux and Casey Hayes allowed
three runs on five hits and four walks while striking out 10.
The Giants offense came up with 12 hits and drew nine walks.
Brandon Stadler led the way with a triple and a two-run homer that
accounted for four RBIs. Hayes went three for three with a double and
three RBIs.
Marlins 12, Giants 2
In a battle for first place, the Marlins rolled past the Giants.
Austin Barlow went two for two with a walk for the Giants.
