Laguna Beach Mayor Elizabeth Pearson-Schneider will speak at the
Laguna Canyon Conservancy’s monthly dinner at 6 p.m. Feb. 7 at Tivoli
Terrace, 650 Laguna Canyon Road. “What’s on the City’s Radar Screen
for 2005” will be the topic of discussion as Pearson-Schneider brings
everyone up to date on everything happening in Laguna Beach. Dinner
tickets can be purchased at the door and cost $10 for members and $15
for nonmembers. The conservancy is now accepting new memberships and

Preservation group
seeks volunteers
Coastwalk, an organization that works to protect the California
coast, is looking for volunteers from the Laguna Beach area to join a
statewide coalition. Coalition volunteers are needed to work on
completion of the California Coastal Trail that runs from Mexico to
the Oregon border. Duties will include leading local hikes, attending
meetings, mapping the area and performing outreach. Information:

Workshop set to discuss sewer charges
The city of Laguna Beach will hold a public workshop from 9:30
a.m. to noon Feb. 5 in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 505
Forest Ave.
The meeting will be held to receive input and suggestions on
options to change the city’s single-family residential sewer service
charges from a flat fee to a volume-based service charge.
Beginning Jan. 31, the city will have the draft report available
in the city clerk’s office for members of the public to review.

CHOC to hold fundraiser at Tivoli Too
The Children’s Hospital of Orange County will host “Heart and
Soul,” a fundraising event at 6 p.m. Feb. 18 at Tivoli Too!, 777
Laguna Canyon Road.
The event will feature a sit-down dinner, variety show starring
Men Alive, Gallimaufry, Roxanna Ward, Laguna Tunes and the Swing Set
and silent and live auctions.
Tickets cost $100 per person and the event fundraising goal is
$75,000. Tickets must be requested by Feb. 5. Information: (949)
