Dodgers activate Yasiel Puig from disabled list

The Dodgers have activated Yasiel Puig for their game against the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday night.
Puig will bat third and play right field.
The All-Star completed a two-game minor-league rehabilitation assignment the previous night, belting a home run in Lancaster for Class-A Rancho Cucamonga.
Puig has been limited to 11 games this season because of a strained left hamstring. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 24.
To clear a roster spot for Puig, the Dodgers optioned outfielder Scott Schebler to triple-A Oklahoma City.
Schebler was called up from Oklahoma City the previous day. The promotion to the major leagues was the first ever for Schebler, whose parents were scheduled to fly into Los Angeles on Saturday.
“Hopefully, I’ll be here,” Schebler said.
In other news, right-hander Sergio Santos cleared waivers and is electing to become a free agent. Santos posted a 4.73 earned-run average in 12 games for the Dodgers. He was designated for assignment last week.
