It’s unanimous: Dodgers’ Matt Kemp is NL player of the month

As a shock to absolutely no one, Matt Kemp was selected Wednesday the National League player of the month for April.
It was either that, or just retire the award.
That clearly was never a danger since Kemp was a unanimous selection. He was twice the player of the week in April.
Kemp finished the month leading the majors in batting average (.417) and home runs (12), and the NL in runs batted in (25), hits (35), runs (24) and slugging percentage (.893), and was second in on-base percentage (.490). Otherwise, he didn’t do a whole lot.
It was his first player-of-the-month award.
