Zack Greinke could pitch Game 4 for Dodgers on three-days’ rest

Zack Greinke could start Game 4 of the National League Championship Series on three-days’ rest if the Dodgers were to lose Monday night, Manager Don Mattingly hinted.

Mattingly acknowledged that the Dodgers’ rotation could change based on the results of Game 3.

For now, Ricky Nolasco is listed as the Game 4 starter, which will be played Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium. Nolasco, who pitched poorly in his last three regular-season starts, was skipped in the division series. That time, Clayton Kershaw pitched on short rest in Nolasco’s place.

Nolasco said he hasn’t been told he might not pitch Tuesday.

“Until somebody says otherwise, I’m focused on going out there and pitching tomorrow,” Nolasco said. “Those things are out of my control. I’m only concentrating on the things I can control.”

If Greinke pitches on three-days’ rest Tuesday, Kershaw is expected to follow him in Game 5. Kershaw would also be pitching on three-days’ rest.

“I haven’t even thought about not pitching, so we’ll see what happens,” Nolasco said.
