Baseball: Curtis Scott is returning as Newbury Park coach
- Share via
Newbury Park has made a change in its baseball coach. Matt Goldfield, who was The Times’ coach of the year in 2012 when he guided the Panthers to a Southern Section Division 1 championship, is out.
Curtis Scott, a former Newbury Park head coach who has remained a teacher at the school, will replace him.
Scott has been an assistant coach at Moorpark College. He also spent a year as head coach at Chatsworth.
Scott said Principal Josh Eby asked him if he would be interested in taking over the position.
“It’s a good fit,” Scott said.
