Boys’ basketball: Damien, with five returning starters, is dangerous team
- Share via
With a little more than a month to go before the basketball season begins, don’t be surprised if Damien gets off to a fast start.
Five starters are back, led by San Diego State-bound Jeremy Hemsley and 6-foot-5 Malik Fitts.
The team was 22-7 a year ago and struggled against league rival Chino Hills, but lots of experience and some talented newcomers make the Spartans very dangerous.
It’s also going to be fun to see how two pairs of brothers like playing together.
There will be the Hemsley brothers, Jeremy, a senior, and Justin, a sophomore, along with the McCullough brothers, Isaiah, a senior, and Elijah, a freshman.
That’s four brothers motivated to outshine the other.
