Football: Crenshaw-Dorsey, Hawkins-L.A. make for exciting Coliseum League finales

If you’re a fan of the Coliseum League, you’ll have quite a doubleheader to attend on Friday to end the regular season.
At 2:15 p.m. at Los Angeles, the host Romans (9-0, 4-0) will try to win the league title outright in a game against Hawkins (8-1, 3-1).
If Hawkins were to win, that could produce a three-way tie for first place, because in the evening, Crenshaw (6-3, 3-1) is taking on rival Dorsey (4-5, 2-2) at Crenshaw.
Los Angeles has already accomplished something few, if any, Coliseum League teams have ever done _ sweep Crenshaw and Dorsey. Under quarterback Kaymen Cureton, the Romans are expected to be the top seed in City Section Division II when pairings are announced on Saturday.
This will be the final game this season for Hawkins. The team is ineligible for the playoffs after playing several ineligible players last season, City Section Commissioner John Aguirre said. That means the players will have nothing to lose. Hawkins knocked off Dorsey last week in double overtime on a game-winning field goal by Brandon Sanchez.
Dorsey will get to play Crenshaw for the first time under first-year Coach Irvin Davis. The Dons have had trouble being competitive in recent years against the Cougars. Crenshaw is trying to be a No. 2 or No. 3 seed in the Division I playoffs behind Narbonne.
