Football: It’s time for St. Bonaventure to show what it has learned
- Share via
The Marmonte League East Division begins on Thursday night with a showdown game between Ventura St. Bonaventure and Westlake Village Westlake at Santa Barbara City College.
St. Bonaventure (3-2) has looked good at times and looked not so good. Injuries have hampered the Seraphs’ development, but there’s no more time for experimenting. Quarterback Ricky Town, who has missed the last three games with a hyper extended knee, could be back in the lineup.
St. Bonaventure’s big challenge is improving its defense that has been torched for lots of touchdowns when facing quality opponents such as Corona Centennial and Alemany.
Westlake (3-2) has also struggled at times but is coming off a victory over Crespi. Quarterback Malik Henry will get his first experience as a starter in Marmonte League play.
The winner is expected to finish atop the East Division standings.
