Football: QB Miles Bryant leaves St. Francis for Alemany

The exodus of quarterbacks switching schools in the spring semester continued on Monday, when Miles Bryant checked out of St. Francis and enrolled at Alemany.

It comes as no surprise, since Michael Bonds, a transfer from Newport Harbor and the nephew of St. Francis Coach Jim Bonds, checked into St. Francis.

And Alemany needed a quarterback after starter Brevin White transferred to Chaminade.

There have been at least eight quarterbacks switching schools in the past month. While outsiders will speculate that the transfers are athletically motivated, the Southern Section is unlikely to make any of the players ineligible for one year barring clear evidence that the moves were made for sports reasons.

Bryant was the starter last season at St. Francis as a junior. He began his high school career at Monrovia.
