Football: The little running backs that could
- Share via
Lots of people are skeptical when they see a running back 5 feet 8 or smaller, but this past weekend showed that players with speed, power, instincts and toughness can succeed against anybody.
J.J. Taylor of Corona Centennial rushed for 269 yards and five touchdowns. He’s listed as 5 feet 6.
Sean McGrew of St. John Bosco rushed for 196 yards and three touchdowns. He’s listed as 5-8.
Ramses Hernandez of Fairfax rushed for 224 yards and four touchdowns. He’s listed as 5-9.
Taylor is headed to Arizona. McGrew is headed to Washington. Hernandez is still waiting for his first scholarship offer, but anyone who watches video from his performance Saturday against Los Angeles should be impressed.
