Thousand Oaks vs. Oaks Christian matches the battle of the unbeatens

We’re going to find out how well the Thousand Oaks student section, known as The Green Hole, travels on Friday. Unbeaten Thousand Oaks (6-0) is set to take on unbeaten Oaks Christian (6-0) at Oaks Christian.
“I’m hoping all our students and fans support us this week,” Thousand Oaks Coach Mike Leibin said.
That’s a call to duty. Leibin and Oaks Christian Coach Jim Benkert know each other well. Leibin played at Westlake and coached under Benkert at Westlake.
He has helped develop one of the most exciting quarterbacks in the Southland in Cal commit Max Gilliam, who has passed for 1,594 yards and 21 touchdowns with two interceptions. He also can run. The Lancers have receiver-defensive back Kevin Howell, who has caught 11 touchdowns, and running back Perry Martin, who has 853 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns.
That’s a lot of offensive firepower, but Oaks Christian can match it.
Sophomore quarterback Matt Corral has passed for 1,621 yards and 19 touchdowns with two interceptions. He has one of the best receiving groups in the Southland with USC-bound Michael Pittman and top junior Colby Parkinson. Running back Gil’Scott Jackson has gained 666 yards and scored 11 touchdowns.
It all means the defenses are going to be quite busy, along with the scoreboard operator.
The game will be televised by Prime Ticket, so beware of The Green Hole. They’re expected to be loud and wearing green.
