Tonight’s Valley Mission League battle between crosstown rivals Sylmar and San Fernando has all the intensity of a playoff game and the first half lived up to the hype.
The stands on both sides are filled to overflowing and the fans have had plenty to cheer about.
Sylmar pulled even late in the half, 14-14, on a 20-yard pass from Clarence Williams to Anthony Muse. Williams is 7-of-12 for 94 yards.
Quarterback Cristian Solano has been sacked five times and has completed only six of 18 passes, but he scored on runs of three and 11 yards and added a two-point conversion for San Fernando, which hopes to claim the Victory Cup for the first time.
