Kobe, Magic and other L.A. sports stars cheer on the Kings

With the Los Angeles Kings in the conference finals for the first time since 1993, it appears Kingsanity is no longer confined to those often misunderstood Southern California puckheads also known as your everyday Kings fans.
Lakers star Kobe Bryant, who spent some time on the Kings’ kiss cam at a game earlier this year, and Lakers legend Magic Johnson will be cheering the Kings on when they open their Western Conference final playoff series against the Phoenix Coyotes on Sunday.
But they aren’t the only ones among L.A.’s sporting elite who will be cheering on the Kings as they attempt to win their first Stanley Cup. Galaxy forward Landon Donovan and Dodgers All-Stars Andre Ethier and Matt Kemp are also hoping the Kings will bring some hockey glory to L.A.
With that much sports celebrity power behind them, you’ve got to like the Kings’ chances against the Coyotes. Sure, Coyotes goalie Mike Smith has been stellar in the postseason, but Kings goalie Jonathan Quick has been great all season. Besides, the Kings have more celebrity fans than the Coyotes (although Phoenix does have Alice Cooper in its corner).
Check out the videos below for a quick “Go Kings” message from Kobe, Landon, Magic and the Dodgers.
