Rams cut cornerback Coty Sensabaugh, promote defensive lineman Morgan Fox from practice squad

The Rams, on the eve of playing the Buffalo Bills with three key defensive linemen managing injuries, announced Saturday that they had cut cornerback Coty Sensabaugh and promoted defensive lineman Morgan Fox from the practice squad to the roster.

Defensive ends Robert Quinn (shoulder) and William Hayes (ankle) and tackle Michael Brokers (hip) did not practice or were limited this week and are listed as questionable for Sunday’s game at the Coliseum.

Sensabaugh, 27, signed a three-year, $15-million contract in March after playing four seasons with the Tennessee Titans. The Rams signed Sensabaugh to help offset the departure of free agent Janoris Jenkins.

Sensabaugh started two games opposite Trumaine Johnson, but he was replaced by Troy Hill during the second game against the Seattle Seahawks. Sensabaugh was inactive for last week’s game.

Cornerback E.J. Gaines’ return from injury and Hill’s development seemed to make Sensabaugh expendable, especially with a possible shortage on the defensive line.

The 6-foot-3, 263-pound Fox signed with the Rams as an undrafted free agent from Division II Colorado State Pueblo. He impressed during training camp and was very productive in the final exhibition at Minnesota, recording two sacks and pressuring the quarterback four times.
