Stefan Noesen, a Ducks wing prospect, suffered two torn knee ligaments in practice with minor league Norfolk last week and was declared out for the season Monday after medical tests in Anaheim.
Noesen, 20, was acquired along with Ducks forward Jakob Silfverberg and another player in an off-season trade with the Ottawa Senators for wing Bobby Ryan.
Noesen, a 201-pound right wing from Plano, Texas, was the 21st overall pick in the 2011 NHL draft.
The Ducks (4-1), who play Wednesday at Honda Center against Calgary, summoned forward Devante Smith-Pelly from Norfolk.
