Larry and Laura Martin of Food & Wine Trails Epicurean Tours led their first winery-hosted cruise 25 years ago. This year the couple toasts the success of their Santa Rosa, Calif., company by personally leading a food and wine cruise from Athens to Monte Carlo — and they’re bringing along winemakers too.
Theresa and Tom Rochioli of Rochioli Vineyards & Winery in Healdsburg, Calif., share their wine insights and expertise as co-hosts of the 10-night President’s Cruise. It begins in Athens aboard Oceania Cruises’ 1,250-passenger Riviera and calls at Santorini, Greece; Ephesus, Turkey; the Amalfi coast of Italy, Rome and Florence, Italy; and Provence, France. The trip ends in Monte Carlo.
Wine tastings organized by Larry Martin and Tom Rochioli are on the schedule as well as a gala dinner featuring Rochioli wines. Passengers will have a chance to meet the winemakers and take part in onboard seminars too.
When: The cruise runs is Oct. 29-Nov. 8.
Price: Starting at $3,674 a person, double occupancy. Travelers who reserve by Jan. 31 will receive $100 shipboard credit and free prepaid gratuities. The price includes international airfare from selected cities or air credit, tastings, gala dinner, onboard parties, wine and food education programs, cabin and meals.
