Three dinosaur exhibits roam Las Vegas this summer

Reporting from Las Vegas — “Jurassic World” may be the biggest film out there right now, but the Springs Preserve one-ups the movie with a prehistoric exhibit of its own.
The new “Dino Summer” indoor exhibit brings an animatronic Tyrannosaurus rex and a Triceratops inside the Origen Museum at the Springs Preserve. Dig up life-sized dinosaur bones, explore a paleontologist’s field station and dive into the life of a dinosaur through state-of-the-art video game technology that lets users control a virtual dinosaur.
“Dino Summer” is on display daily through Sept. 20.
Two other dinosaur exhibits roam Las Vegas this summer as well.
The Las Vegas Natural History Museum has the Engelstad Family Prehistoric Life Gallery, where a 35-foot long Tyrannosaurus Rex roars, and a Triceratops, Ankylosaur and a raptor roam.
The Discovery Children’s Museum has “Dinosaurs: Land of Fire and Ice,” a child-centered exhibit set in the Cretaceous Period. The exhibit, created for children ages 3 or older, includes a field research station where children uncover fossils with brushes and create drawings of the dinosaur environment using fossil rubbings and tracings. Other components include a Triceratops and T-Rex.
